Microsoft has insisted that Call Of Duty should stay on PS5, but stopped from guaranteeing that it would always be multiformat.

When a console maker buys an earlier version, the first reason is to make all their games exclusives, as is happening with Microsoft and Bethesda. But Microsoft has repeatedly said that won’t happen with Call Of Duty or at least for a long time yet.

In three years, the current marketing deal with the franchises failed to expire and to be considered a Xbox exclusive, and in the meantime, Microsoft has insisted that Call Of Duty won’t be transformed into an Xbox Exclusive. Several countries investigate the merger with Activision Blizzard over monopoly concerns.

This issue is becoming so important that he has revealed that the rumor that bestselling boss Phil Spencer wrote to the PlayStation manager Jim Ryan wrote to him that Call Of Duty will remain multiformat for at least several more years.

As the platform for gaining Call Of Duty on Game Pass is no easy question, Microsoft can do that immediately and so it remains to continue emulation the streaming service to become something that Sony and others cannot match.

In January, Sony signed the deal to ensure Call of Duty on PlayStation, with feature and content parity, and for at least several more years beyond the current Sony contract, an offer which goes much more than typical gaming industry agreements.

The UK Competition and Markets Authority announced recently that it was going to start a thorough investigation into the acquisition, which won’t be completed for a long time.
