A new Kickstarter for the popular miniature battle game of WWI/chibi is due for this coming October. After saying that it has acquired the rights of the long-dormant tabletop game, Steamforged has launched a Kickstarter for Rivet Wars: Unloaded, which has a new faction created and gives newcomers the perfect chance to enter the game. With this Kickstarter, we can build new versions of Rivet Wars and all of its original expansions a whole new version, as well as a new Nemoan expansion.
Originally published in 2014 by CMON, the war was related to the earliest World War I, and fought with chibi aesthetics. Originally created by Ted Terranova, a videogame designer responsible forRise of the nations,Age of the Reichs III, andthe Emperors of Amalur: Reckoning. Rivet Wars was inspired by real time strategy games and focused on constantly collecting resources and deploying new units to try to keep ahead of their opponents. Several expansions for Rivet Wars were released. They added heavy artillery, aircraft and even mech-inspired combat armor.
The Kickstarter has two main pledges. A Core Pledge that includes the updated Core Box and Vanguards Expansion and a Veterans Expansion that includes all the updated content without having to buy any new play component. The backers also have the option “All-In” that includes all the original content and the new expansion.
As of the time of the press, the Kickstarter already raised more than one million dollars, and exceeded its earlier five7,000 goals. The Kickstarter campaign is shorter and won’t be open until September 16th.
