Iwaju was announced during the period of the year 2000 and will be shown to Disney at Disney Plus in 2023. There weren’t much talk about the upcoming series, but it’ll be slated in a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria. Disney doesn’t often travel in the futuristic direction but stays on the Earth. Wall-E may be the most important area of Earth, but it didn’t necessarily place on its own.

Iwaju is expected to be created in partnership with Disney and Kugali.

Kugali describes the studio: “on their site”

We’re an entertainment company whose focus is on the story of African Culture with cartoon and animation based on art and animation. These stories respect history and celebrate present and imagine the future of the continent.

We’re dedicated to good storytelling; we focus on raising up new, uninvited, authentic African voices.

Although Disney Animation tells diverse stories, partnering with a legitimate African animated studio like Kugali will only further expand Iwaju into something that anyone can use to learn about new cultures.

We’ll certainly inform you on all Iwaju happening when one more bit of that series goes on. Now, all we know is the 2023 release date on Disney Plus.

If you love other Disney announcements, yesterday’s Disney & Marvel Games Showcase gave us first glance at Disney Illusion Island for Nintendo Switch featuring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy.

Keep on putting up with some new films and world premieres from D23.
